Lusans Companion Care Services was founded by Magdalene Bassey to honour her family and serve seniors with the same warmth, dignity, and consistency she would want for her own loved ones.

This is not a large, impersonal agency. There is no rotating roster of unfamiliar faces. When you choose Lusans, your parent is matched with a consistent, familiar, trusted care provider who genuinely knows them and cares about their wellbeing.

Accompanied grocery shopping, pharmacy visits, banking, appointments, and community outings. Your parent stays active, independent, and connected to the world around them.

Wellness & Engagement

Gentle outdoor walks, fresh air, encouragement for daily movement, and positive social interaction. Physical and emotional wellness go hand in hand — staying active changes everything.

Premium Service

Travel Companion

Accompanied domestic and international travel. Airport navigation, luggage help, full trip companionship, and safety oversight. Your parent can still see the world — with someone trusted by their side.

Non-medical scope. We do not provide medical care, medication administration, personal hygiene assistance, physical lifting, or overnight care. Our focus is companionship, connection, and practical support.

Additional charges where applicable. Mileage is reimbursed at $0.70/km for extended-distance travel, client outings, or locations outside our regular service area (London). Applicable taxes are added where required, along with any other incurred fees (for example, hospital parking).

Travel Companion

Domestic or international travel with a trusted companion, including up to 8 hours of companion time per day. All travel expenses (flights, accommodation, meals, insurance) covered separately by the client or family.

No. Lusans Companion Care Services provides non-medical companionship and support only. We do not administer medications, assist with personal hygiene, or provide clinical care. What we do provide is genuine, consistent, professional human companionship — and that has profound health benefits all on its own.

Three things: consistency, availability, and relationship. With a typical agency, your parent may see a different person every visit. With Lusans, your parent is matched with one dedicated care provider who knows their stories, their favourite shows, their routines. That relationship is the service. Additionally, we specifically serve evenings and Saturdays — hours most agencies do not cover.

Lusans is covered by general liability insurance, and every care provider carries a Vulnerable Sector Police Check and is First Aid/CPR certified. Every client relationship begins with a signed service agreement that clearly outlines scope of care, emergency protocols, and professional standards. Emergency contacts are logged before the first visit begins.

This is one of the most common concerns — and it is completely valid. That is why every new client relationship begins with a complimentary meet-and-greet before any commitment is made. No pressure, no obligation. If the connection feels right, great. If not, there is no cost and no awkwardness.

Lusans Companion Care Services will be honest with you. If your parent's needs grow beyond what a non-medical companionship service can safely provide, we will have that conversation proactively and compassionately — and will help connect your family to the appropriate care provider. We will not overstep our scope, and we will not disappear either.

Yes. Transportation to appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other community destinations is part of the errands and outings service. This is one of the most practical and appreciated offerings, especially for seniors who no longer drive.
